ADOPT A TREE EVENT DEADLINE IS COMING UP – REGISTER BY APRIL 1ST

REMEMBER TO SIGN UP BY APRIL 1, 2022 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE FREE TREES.

Last year Desoto Acres celebrated its 100th birthday by giving away and planting 100 trees in Desoto Acres. This was such a success we will be doing it again in 2022!

In celebration of National Arbor Day we will be giving away trees on Saturday April 30  right here in Desoto Acres in partnership with
Sarasota County Extension Treejuvenation Florida.

We are hoping to have Slash Pine, Cypress, Mahogany, Red Maple and Live Oak trees available–all Florida native trees.

How it works:
1) You will need to pre-register for the National Arbor Day Adopt-a-Tree event at:
https://blogs.ifas.ufl.edu/sarasotaco/2020/03/02/treejuvenation-florida/
2) You must do this before April 1st and watch a short, 3 1/2 minute tree care 101 video
3) Complete the pre-registration form to receive tickets for up to 3 free trees – Be sure to get 3 tickets if you want 3 trees.
4) On April 30th pick up your trees at the Lipman house–2710 53rd St.We’ll be there loading trees from 8am-10am.

Need help planting? No worries! We will have volunteers to help plant. What better way to serve our community than to  plant a tree!
