Thanks to efforts by neighborhood volunteers, the six decaying wooden neighborhood signs have been replaced with new signs that will better withstand the tests of time.
These signs were partially funded by a grant from Sarasota County’s Neighborhood initiative grant program. To qualify for the matching funds, neighbors volunteered plants and labor to surround the signs with beds of Florida-native or Florida-friendly plants. This work is nearly complete, and the Association hope to close out the grant by year-end.
Many thanks to all volunteers who contributed plants and/or labor, and thanks especially to Pam Bournival who shepherded the application through the grant process and coordinated the plantings. Thank you Pam!
